DRT IT SME’s Team Wins 2nd Place in ServiceNow CreatorCon Hackathon

DRT’s IT Subject Matter Expert (SME) Lead shows innovation coupled with extensive technical capabilities to implement key solutions on the ServiceNow platform.

Arlington, VA – May 9, 2019 – DRT IT SME Lead, Phanindra (Phani) Maddhi and a team of developers achieved 2nd place at ServiceNow’s CreatorCon Hackathon, a competition to develop the most creative applications (apps) built on the ServiceNow platform at the ServiceNow Knowledge 2019 Conference in Las Vegas, NV. Phani competed head-to-head with several hundred attendees, in over 60 teams, during an 8-hour hackathon to rapidly build apps, solutions, and prototype ideas to solve real business problems using the ServiceNow Platform.

Over 20,000 attendees, who participated the Knowledge 2019 Conference, watched Phani and his team, “Above the Line,” present the app they developed — a Virtual Assistance Agent self-service app that automates customer identification by scanning the driver’s license using AI/Image process. In only eight hours, Phani and his team developed modules to utilize this app for:

• New employee on boarding
• Knowledge 2019 Registration
• Rental car pickup and checkout
• Ordering a drink

“Many people come in with problems they want to solve, or just a core idea for an innovation,” said ServiceNow Principal Developer Evangelist Jason McKee. “In past years we’ve had people build business solutions here, take them back to the office, polish them up and move those apps into production,” McKee said.
