DRT Strategies Awarded Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Exercise Communications Support Contract

Multi-year engagement enhances preparedness of the Nation’s Homeland Security Enterprise, involving all citizens in emergency readiness and response through innovative Strategic Stakeholder Engagement Solutions.

Arlington, Virginia – February 28, 2012 – The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA), National Exercise Division (NED) awarded DRT Strategies, Inc. (DRT) the Exercise Communications Support Contract to provide innovative Strategic Stakeholder Engagement Solutions that help NED to enhance preparedness and emergency readiness across the Nation. Under the three-and-a-half-year competitive 8(a) contract, DRT and teaming partner, Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. (BAH), will support FEMA in transforming communication methods from a historically government-centric model to a new “Whole Community” approach. FEMA’s “Whole Community” fosters integration, collaboration, and interaction from dynamic networks that expand stakeholders and include more diverse audiences.

To assist NED in deploying effective communications to the Homeland Security Enterprise, DRT designed Stakeholder Engagement Solutions around three key capabilities:

1. Strategic Communications and Messaging Support,
2. Stakeholder Outreach Support, and
3. Online Presence Support.
