DRT Strategies, Inc. Named USDA’s 2011 Small Disadvantaged Business Contractor of the Year
IT management consulting firm recognized for delivering innovative enterprise technical support services and program management oversight to U.S. Department of Agriculture
Arlington, VA — July 5, 2011 — DRT Strategies, Inc. (DRT) was honored with the USDA Small Disadvantaged Business Contractor of the Year Award, presented by USDA’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) at the USDA Small Business and AbilityOne Award Ceremony held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the Jamie L. Whitten Building in Washington, DC.
USDA’s Office of Procurement and Property Management (OPPM), Departmental Management (DM) division nominated DRT Strategies for its outstanding service, performance, and dedication in providing PMO, Acquisition, and IT support services for USDA’s mission critical initiatives within the following programs:
- Charge Card Service Center (CCSC)
- Integrated Acquisition System (IAS)
- Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Coordination (OHSEC)
- Office of Advocacy and Outreach (OAO)
In addition, DRT supports USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) providing technical assistance, evaluation, and training services to support State Agency systems used in administering the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), as well as other FNS programs.

DRT’s first project with USDA, in 2007, was in support of the transition and implementation of USDA’s SmartPay2 program with U.S. Bank. Further, DRT helped develop and continues to provide support for USDA’s Charge Card Service Center (CCSC), established in 2008 by the Office of Procurement and Property Management (OPPM) in cooperation with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) and the USDA’s Working Capital Fund Board, to plan, develop, and implement its charge card program under SmartPay2 and to provide consolidated, department-wide governance in this program to help further USDA’s mission. Today, USDA’s CCSC is an award-winning program which was honored with GSA’s SmartPay2 Innovation Award in 2010.
